1938 Shower pan in Daly City
We'll save the best for last as this is one of my personal favorites.
Keeping the integrity of that 1930s look.
My customer didn't want the 1950s flair with the traditional border/ diagonal inset look of the easy 1 inch hex look either. So this is what I suggested...SAVE AS MUCH TILE AS POSSIBLE.......
I managed to save 3/4 of the pan floor .
With all pieces saved,I carefully detached all the tile from the adhering cement.
Found the perfect solution.
Knowing that Dal Tile sold that same Octagon mosaic tile with dots ,I came up with this design......
Keep Going....
This is all a loose layout before setting.
There!!....A nice ART DECO design.
Remember..I saved all those pink floor mosaic tiles.
And there you have it.
All the save tiles inserted and the #70 B&W Pink Tile that matched perfectly with the pink mosaic inserts.Grouted with Fusion Alabaster to create a aged grout look.
